Career of actor Karthi

Karthi’s Film career started as a assistant director. Karthi worked as a assistant director for the hindi version Yuva of the Tamil movie Aayutha Ezhuthu directed by Mani Rathnam
Karthi’s debut film in Tamil is Paruthiveeran, directed by Ameer of Ram fame.In this Tamil movie, Karthi’s role was that of a village rowdy which bagged several awards and appreciations. Paruthiveeran was a massive hit at the box office due to his performance. Paruthiveeran had Karthi , Priyamani in lead roles.

After Paruthiveeran, Karthi started getting many offers. His next exceptional flick was Aayirathil Oruvan a fantacy film directed by Selavaraghavan.Although the film did not do well at the box office , Karthi again proved his talents.


Paiyaa (April 2010), directed by Linguswamy ,starring Karthi and Tamanna Bhatia in lead roles , was a Blockbuster hit at the bix office. Paiyaa is a Romantic-action movie. Not only in Tamil Nadu , but the dubbed versions of Aayirathil oruvan and paiyaa in telugu named Yuganiki Okkadu and Aawara were massive hits in Andhra too.
